Avions – Raised in the Darkest Forest, in the Secret of the Black Arts

If life gives you lemon, would you play a pop punk song? Would you prefer to be left alone or to join Avions in their universe? In case of the latter, go here: https://soundcloud.com/avions-3

Barrie – Happy To Be Here

Don’t ask me why, but I find this album refreshing and putting me in a good mood. Happy To Be Here is Barrie’s first album and it leads you in some kind of daydreaming scenery with lush vocals and a soothing groove. I am particularly fond of “Darjeeling” and “Clover”.

Foxwarren – Sunset Canyon

Foxwarren’s backstory reads like a page torn from the manual of rock & roll authenticity, as this group of siblings and childhood friends originally formed more than a decade ago.” (source: bandcamp page of the band).

Do you recognize the voice? It is Andy Shauff’s. We haven’t talk about him here (yet) but if you like some good singer-songwriter, I recommand listening to him. Foxwarren is a side project of him.

Kind of a peaceful track. Isn’t it?

Pictish Trail – Turning Back

Pictish Trail explains that this track, and its faintly bittersweet synth jammer, is probably the most “pop” one on his album “Thumb World”. “Turning Back” is about replaying the moment you met someone and wanting to live it over and over again.

Ratboys – Printer's Devil

This album is for all the fan of Charly Bliss (<3). The band already has great reviews, on metacritic or Pitchfork for instance, so I won’t had anything. Favourite tracks? “Look To” (and its pop vibe), “Vision” for a moment of calm, and “Anj” and its 90s rock atmosphere. And you know what? They are playing in Paris in May 2020: https://www.facebook.com/events/2243516699277144/
