I don’t often post here jazz or funk. So when I came across this album, I thought it was worth sharing with you. It is nice for chilling. Some easy-listening music if you want. I must confess that I haven’t carefully listen to all the tracks so far. The first and last ones were great, so I thought that what was in between had to be too (and according to the few seconds I put them on while preparing this post). Was I wrong?

Gazzara vs Alex Di Ciò – It’s Because (Alex Di Ciò Jazid Mix)
Here is a nice mix between electro, disco, and funk. With this wah effect on the guitar and the nice rhythm, we definitely could move on the dance floor with our roller skates on and with the disco ball above our head.
The Age of Steam – Clockwork Toys
Karl Clews is a bass player I am following on YouTube. One day, out of nowhere, he published this gem saying “‘The Age Of Steam’ is a pseudonym I use for these kinds of ‘miscellaneous’ side projects, to distinguish them from my bass-oriented material”. I don’t know what you felt while listening to it (feel free to share in the comments) but I definitely love it (especially when the guitar kicks in) and I am looking forward the next tracks. I can’t really describe what I feel though, but there is definitely happiness in it. I also really enjoyed the music video.
Vulfpeck – Dean Town
It’s funky time.
This song got me at the first second. The groove is really good and I love the sound of the bass, which along with the drums makes the chore of the track. The keyboard at 2’03 adds a charm to it too. As a bass player, I am definitely impressed by the speed of Joe Dart’s fingerstyle. It looks so easy…but definitely isn’t. The music video has a 70s atmosphere which fits perfectly with the song.
Now the question is: Have you spotted the cat?
