Somewhere off Jazz Street – Maybe Tomorrow

Narrator: We found Johnny’s body on an early December morning. He was dumped in the back of this filthy alley close to the clubhouse bar he loved so much. He seems to have gotten into a fight which didn’t end the way he wanted. For f*** sake, how did it come to this. It probably all started when she walked into our office that night unannounced.

Focus on the music, on the atmosphere. This is something you have to listen to when reading a Noir novel (in my case, it was a Noir comic: Blacksad). It will add another dimension to the story. If you want to listen to more of this work: https://somewhereoffjazzstreet.bandcamp.com

GoGo Penguin – F Maj Pixie

Jazz band Gogo Pinguin has an original approach for their music. They employ computer technology to compose, then find ways to record (and perform) the results on acoustic instruments, while limiting the number of effects pedals and delays. Drummer Rob Turner obsessively worked with Ableton, a production software favoured by many electronic producers, and “F Maj Pixie” is partially based on a theme composed with it.
